		<title>"Pathways To Understanding"</title>
<description>In conclusion I would like to say: We realize that this information can be overwhelming. You need to realize that they have organic brain damage, and it effects each child differently; not every child will have every problem talked about. This organic brain damage is permanent, but it is not progressive. We need to find the strengths and weaknesses. These are not throw away kids. We have talked to many parents and most feel that their lives have been much richer and with much more meaning because of raising their children with FASD. 85% of children diagnosed with FASD are being raised in Adoptive or Foster Homes. Many of these children also have many other diagnoses, such as Attachment Disorders, Physical, Sexual, and Emotional Abuse, and many others. These children need you to learn additional parenting techniques. We sincerely hope these parenting techniques help both persons with FASD and their caregivers. We firmly believe in diagnosis, the earlier the better, in services, in learning parenting techniques, but they do not heal the child. We must plan for our children's future. By doing these things your children will have a much better chance. Thank you for your time. John Hays </description>
